WALFORD TIMBER - Timber Fencing and Landscaping Supplies
About Walford Timber Ltd

Walford Timber Ltd from the air

Walford Timber Ltd started trading in 1945 under the ownership of Herbert Smith. Known then as Walford Sawmills, the mill was cutting mixed hardwoods from the Forest of Dean and local estates primarily for the mining industry.

As the mining industry declined in the late 1950's, the sawmill changed to cutting softwoods for the fencing, agricultural and construction trades. In the mid 1960's a pressure treatment plant was installed, and in 1992 was replaced by a state of the art plant to cope with increased production.

In the early 1970's the company started to import timber from Canada and Scandinavia which added a new dimension and significant growth to the business. Today most of our carcassing timber comes from the Baltic States, along with Purlins and boards for agricultural buildings. Fencing stakes and rails are also imported from the Baltic States.

During the mid 1990's we added a wide range of landscaping and decking products to our range which has seen huge growth in the past few years.

We also have a modern and well equiped workshop where we manufacture bespoke entrance gates, Gazebo's, Arbours, Trellis and closeboard / Featheredge panels.

We also supply County Councils with Stiles, bridges, way marker signs and fencing.

Today Walford Timber Ltd has a multi-million pound turnover, supplying customers throughout the UK. The company is still owned and run by the Smith family and a team dedicated to providing our customers with a service and quality product second to none.
